I met some friends for a day fishing trip to Chincoteague. On the way in, I grounded the boat. That was at 2:30pm. Low tide was at 5:00pm. High tide came in at 11:00pm. I became fast friends with the Coast Guard on my VHF radio. The boat floated off the sand bar about 8:30pm that night. Cold, cold, cold!

Lesson learned. Watch the buoys and stay in the channel
